These Keto Jalapeño Popper Smash Burgers take everything people love about a classic smash burger and combine it with the creamy, cheesy flavors of a jalapeño popper. Ingredients
- Burgers
- 2 lbs 80/20 ground beef
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 8 slices cheddar cheese
- Jalapeño Popper Topping
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 2 jalapeños, finely diced
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp smoked paprika
- For Serving
- Lettuce leaves or keto buns
- Pickle slices
- Sliced jalapeños (optional)
Instructions
- Make the Jalapeño Popper Mixture
- In a medium bowl combine:. Cream cheese. Shredded cheddar, Bacon, Diced jalapeños, Garlic powder and Smoked paprika
- Mix until smooth and refrigerate while preparing the burgers.
- Divide ground beef into 8 loosely packed balls, approximately 4 ounces each. Do not compress tightly.
- Lightly oil then a eat a cast iron skillet or flat top griddle to high heat.
- Place beef balls on the hot surface. Using a burger press or sturdy spatula, smash each ball into a thin patty about ¼ inch thick. and season with salt and pepper.
- Cook 2 to 3 minutes until a dark crust forms., flip once. top each patty with cheddar cheese.and then cook another 1 to 2 minutes.
- Finally, stack two patties per burger and top generously with the jalapeño popper mixture. Add pickles and extra jalapeños if desired.
- Serve on lettuce wraps or keto buns.
